Why is this theme important?

he safety challenges associated with the use of contractors are the subject of numerous provisions at all stages of the selection, contracting and evaluation of services.

These provisions cover both health and safety in the workplace, and industrial safety, which are generally covered by the ‘quality’ section of tender documents. They aim to both ensure high safety standards and provide legal cover in the event of an accident.

The same subcontractor can be faced with contractors who have different requirements, both in terms of form and content. The result is a heavy administrative burden for both partners.

The strategic analysis

The Foncsi carried out a strategic analysis of this issue from 2019 to 2021.

Methodology

Strategic analysis is a working methodology developed by the Foncsi. It aims to ensure high-level research over a particularly short period (18-24 months), and to establish a continuum of innovation between research and industry.

There are four key stages:

  1. The state of the art
  2.  The international academic seminar
  3. Comparison with industrial practices
  4.  The industrial seminar
